About FOSU

The Federation of Ogotun Students' Union (FOSU) is the conglomeration of all students of tertiary institutions who are of Ogotun extraction, united for academic excellence and community development.

Our Foundation

Originally spearheaded by Late Pa Idowu Awopetu (a.k.a Baba Olope), FOSU serves as the umbrella under which all students of Ogotun meet to discuss life and community development, especially in education.

Our Journey Through Time

From founding to revival, FOSU's resilient spirit has weathered challenges and emerged stronger

Foundation (1970s)

Established by Late Pa Idowu Awopetu as "Ogotun Students' Union," bringing together students under one umbrella for community discourse and educational advancement.

Pioneer Era

Dormant Period (Late 1980s)

The union went into extinction due to various challenges. During this time, "Rare Flowers Scholastic Movement" emerged with similar goals but limited participation.

Transition Phase

Revival (1999)

The union was successfully revived with Scholar Dapo Osunniyi as the first president, laying a strong foundation for the modern FOSU we know today.

Renaissance Era
